Well if there are claims of two blogs, then I best write something in this one too...

Messenger 8.0 Beta - VERY ANNOYING!!! Microsoft very kindly sent an invite to one of my passport addresses, only that address had never ever signed into Messenger before... So I thought I'd download the beta using my invite and sign in as normal... After it eventually installed (making me close every program running, taking ages to get past checking and another few minutes to get past copying, and it still wanted to reboot at the end), it told me I couldn't sign in cos my address wasn't allowed.

So it's off to ideas.live.com to register and hopefully get an invite to my messenger account asap cos I'm not in the mood to uninstall, get 7.5 and reinstall.

That Other Blog...

I've just realised that there may be those out there still reading this blog what I haven't updated for months and months. Eaton Bray Weblog Updates

As the editor for the Eaton Bray section of DMOZ named the news site "Eaton Bray Weblog", then who am I to complain...

This Eaton Bray site has become a great place to try new things out, and having set up Feedburner, the latest of those is to finally submit to advertising to see if it can bring in any revenue at all.

I was happily suprised just how simple it was to setup - the main problem was working out where to put the adverts so as to keep them as unobtrusive as possible. Hopefully I've succeeded, with adverts on each blog entry, and below the text for some of the main site content; let me know what you think.

Classic FM feed change

It seems that mms://audio2.musicradio.com/classicfm no longer works on its own in Window Media Player (WMP).

Luckily it is still possible to get everything working with the addition of a brief welcome now, using the following URL in WMP: http://audio.musicradio.com/Playlist.asx?show=5.

New Feeds For All!

The old XML feeds will still continue to work for a long time to come, but there are now new feeds available:

Eaton Bray - New Layout

I've been planning a layout for the Eaton Bray, Bedfordshire website for a while now, based on the new Carnival one, and integrating the Eaton Bray blog with much more information, but hadn't quite figured out how to get the latest blog entries to appear on the front page.

Step up Feedburner! Having just gone over there to convert my blogspot Atom feed to look nice, I suddenly spotted their "Buzzboost" script and everything was solved.

So with a quick graphic (I know it's not wonderful but it'll do for now), it's all up and running, and finally makes it worth me buying the eaton-bray.co.uk domain in the first place!
